Oh the blessings there will be for those who accepted God’s provision for their salvation, long before the Christ had come to earth; the faith that they held onto, even before the Commandments were given.
This often fills me with awe! We are so blessed to have records , written by eye-witnesses, of the wonder of Christ’s lowly birth, the heart rending account of His death on the old rugged cross, His beautiful, compassionate, loving life, and, the ecstasy of His resurrection. We also have records of the many times His life story was foretold by prophets, long before these events even took place.
And yet, there are those that scoff, and even those who accept, but do not appreciate this wonderful gift from God Himself!
We are so fortunate to live “after the cross”, and “after the gift of the Comforter” I often wonder how we have taken so much for granted today, after the terrible price that Christ paid. Let’s take a moment to consider Him, and the Sacrifice He made for us.
Dear Lord, forgive the way I have walked;
Not taking time to express gratitude.
Forgive the mistakes that I have made,
By not adjusting my poor attitude.
I will rest with You in the heavenlies
In praise, faith and deep trust, I’ll abide.
When clouds of fear and doubt sweep over me;
In Your loving arms, I’ll safely hide!
Amen
