No sky, no heaven or earth. No sun or moon for light, only the expanse of void and darkness. That was all there was before it all began.

No waters or dry ground. No green grass or colorful flowers. No trees high in the sky or soft cottony clouds. No wind to blow a breeze before the first day.

No plants to yield seed or fruit trees to yield fruit. No fish to swim the waters or birds to fly the skies. No cattle to roams the fields or small animals to scurry to safety, only the Spirit of God Hovering.

No man made in the image of God, male and female. There was nothing, nothing at all before.

Then God began to create and He spoke.

“Let there be light” No more was there a great expanse of void and darkness. Instead there was light where darkness used to be.

“Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Immediately there was earth and God called the firmament heaven. The greatest creation had begun.

“Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place and let the dry land appear” The words were spoken and it was so. There was dry land called earth and the waters, called seas, were contained just where He placed there boundaries.

“Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth.” Now there was green grass, mountains and valleys where water once was. Trees grew and produced fruit and plants of all kinds came from the earth.

“Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for sings and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth” With those words, the sky was filled with twinkling overhead. The sun was given to light the day and the moon the night.

“Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” The waters instantly showed activity as the fish, big and small swam the waters of the sea. Every species of birds flew the skies, eventually landing to build a home for themselves.

“Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind.” The earth was filled with elephants, alligators, zebras and rabbits. Animals of all kinds, every beast and every creeping thing spread across the earth to inhabit it.

“Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” In the likeness of God, in the image of the three parts of God, Adam and Eve were made. They were given dominion over the earth and all its creations.

Before God began there was nothing, after He was finished, all things we know existed and were called good. When He spoke, things came into being. All this was done in just six days with the sound of His voice.

Should we really ever doubt who He is and what He is capable of?

Hmmm, I understand the topic and your idea, I just wish there was a little more to it-a little more spark or something. lol. Pretty good though and your ending hints that this could be easily turned into a devotional. Nice!

Was there ever a more profound before and after? This incredible sequence of scripture verses is powerful. A reflection of your own at the end can certainly be expanded --let us know what this means to you personally.
