I will never forget the words of my neighbor Betty Figi. "The Lord brings good out of bad times." She told me that when I was 14, just after my mom committed suicide. That saying has stayed with me, and I will never forget her words of wisdom.
Other times where the Lord brought good out of a bad situation was when I worked two part time jobs. One was my first career job the other was at a grocery store. The day I lost the job at the grocery store was the day I was offered a full time position at the career job.
I put my career ahead of the Lord, and I paid the price for that when I moved from Minnesota to Illinois. The Job did not work out and I got out of the career that I loved being in. I got into a Bible reading schedule and the act of obedience changed my life. Fatal flaws that I have dealt with my whole life went away.
Life change doesn't just happen over night. Earlier this year after I had a temper fit, the Lord showed me through a lady that I need to pray, and ask the Lord for help with everything big and small. The temper fit was bad but it brought change for the good.
The Bible says in Proverbs "trust in the Lord and don't depend on you own understanding." The thing I have learned is when you're in a jam trust and pray and he will bring good out of bad.
