Of the great flood in Noah’s day
How so many rejected Noah,
Because of what he had to say…
Being the core of all their jesting
He still worked quite endlessly
For he trusted his Lord and Master
Not their disputes of Blasphemy.
Oft times I have found myself
Dwelling on those fearsome days
When the skies begin to spill rain-
Overflowing all their estates.
How baffling it must have been
To now realize Noah spoke truth
And accept that there was no hope-
Absolutely nothing they could do!
Oh! the peace Noah possessed
While resting safely in the Ark
A diminishing world outside,
But inside testimonial remarks.
Echoes of scripture remind me
Of that everlasting, familiar phrase,
“As it was in the days of Noah,
So shall it be in the final days.”
Hearts of many have waxed cold
They refuse the Lord Jesus Christ
They breathe for only self alone
With every sin they’re more enticed…
But there is a hope for everyone
A shelter sound from destruction
An ark of safety, built once more
But, by no means a reproduction.
This ark will abide forevermore
No securer place can be found
Perfect, pure, you can rest-assured,
That nothing can tear this ark down.
So if you want to find this place
Friend, I will show you where
Open up the word of the Lord
You will uncover the answer there…
You will learn about a holy man
Who suffered and died for you
Giving his perfect life for yours-
He yearns to give you life anew…
But you must call upon his name
So he can cleanse you from all sin
He’ll take up residence in your heart-
Shape and mold you from within.
Once he’s performed his perfect work
Friend, he will have saved your life
For you will have found your refuge-
Resting safely in, “The Ark of Christ.”
