The heart that exudes the charisma of Jesus is a mirror image of the exquisite foundations of His eternal Kingdom. Gold rod shines through a crystal clear smile. White pearls gleam with purity and perfection. Fiery red jasper dazzles love and compassion. Brilliant blue sapphire glimmers hope and obedience. Translucent grayish chalcedony glistens strength and courage. Green emerald flickers poise and kindness. Alternating bands of light orange brown sardonyx twinkle truth and justice. Diaphanous reddish carnelian emanates faith and grace. Bright yellow-green chrysolite exudes humility and generosity. White, yellow, pink, green and blue beryl burst with beauty and grandeur. Transparent brown and yellowish topaz overflows with sincerity and humility. Bright green chrysoprase disperses joy and obedience. Reddish jacinth scatters holiness and greatness. A mixture of violet, purple, and bluish amethyst emits gentleness and forgiveness.
A devout life manifests the splendor of that Majestic Realm. The twelve gates, each made of a single pearl, are doorways of opportunities to enrich one's self by way of teaching, learning, developing visions, honing decision-making skills, taking risks, motivating people, building teams, expanding self-knowledge, displaying integrity, pursuing wisdom, improving communicative competence, and helping others to succeed.
I sit and wonder if such godly qualities could be real. The many trials that keep coming my way have oftentimes reduced me into a certified grouch. The weakness of my character are very evident in my selfishness. I lie and cheat, judge other people negatively, and take advantage of the feeble. There had been a number of times when I withheld my tithes because of my greediness. But as I visualize the great street of pure gold traversing the Grand City, I see glitters of hope showering me with mercy despite my evil ways.
God's Kingdom is not necessarily located in a far unreachable place. The loveliness of the Lord can also be seen in the most dreary places in this world. Even the tiny drops of rain that refreshes a warm summer day or a flower blooming in the midst of winter for both the good and the evil, expresses the closeness of paradise, extending the colors of heaven right here on earth.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)
