When I was a little girl, I went to
church every Sunday with my parents. Our
church supported a missionary by the
name of Helen Docurety. She was a
missionary in Africa. When she would
come to visit our church, she would
bring slides and talk about her work
there. She showed all the good things
that was going on there at that time,
but also some of the bad things that
could happen and did from time to time.
I had made up my mind then, I was
going to become a missionary and go to
Africa.
What I didn't know then, was God had
other plans for my life and things
didn't work out like I wanted them to.
After what seems a life time ago,
I am proud to report that my sister's
daughter grew up, and became a
missionary and went to Africa. It was
a lot of hard work for her, but God
was guiding her all the way.
She met her Godly husband there,
doing God's work, and recently they
are proud parents of a baby girl.
It's amazing how God works. Isn't it?
