When I was a little girl, I went to

church every Sunday with my parents. Our

church supported a missionary by the

name of Helen Docurety. She was a

missionary in Africa. When she would

come to visit our church, she would

bring slides and talk about her work

there. She showed all the good things

that was going on there at that time,

but also some of the bad things that

could happen and did from time to time.

I had made up my mind then, I was

going to become a missionary and go to

Africa.

What I didn't know then, was God had

other plans for my life and things

didn't work out like I wanted them to.

After what seems a life time ago,

I am proud to report that my sister's

daughter grew up, and became a

missionary and went to Africa. It was

a lot of hard work for her, but God

was guiding her all the way.

She met her Godly husband there,

doing God's work, and recently they

are proud parents of a baby girl.

It's amazing how God works. Isn't it?

Glad you were able to see your niece answer the call to be a missionary in Africa. How wonderful that she has been so blessed, too!

I'm not quite certain why you have formatted your piece in this way. It looks as though you have typed your story strait into the submission box. It makes it very difficult to read, which is a pity since your point about different people being called to missions really needs to be read.

Thoughtful testimony.

This is a neat story with a great catch at the end. Can you show me your story though, not just tell it? I'm not sure if you want to put this into a poem the way it is formatted, but I think it would be a nice article reporting not only the facts, but some details so the reader can relate and be drawn in. Keep writing it's a great start!

God works in mysterious ways, doesn't He? I think it would be great if you went into some of the experiences that your niece has had in Africa. Could make for an interesting read....anyway...keep writing!

That is awesome that through your family your dream was fulfilled.
