From a time so long ago,
In a land so far away.
A group of people prayed to God,
Usually in dismay.

Blessed beyond what man could hope,
Gods favor lit their path.
But disobedience often came,
They knew well of Gods wrath.

From all the days of Isaacsís sons,
Thereís been fighting till the present.
Most would worship God on high;
From the king down to the peasant.

But where the problem usually comes,
Is with the mention of Christís name.
Some would say Heís just a man,
Yet others proclaim His fame.

When Jesus walked upon the earth,
Where Israel is today.
He had no sin and loved His Father,
Always taking time to pray.

He taught of love and mercy gave,
To all who would believe.
He healed the sick and walked the wave,
To the disciples He would receive.

He left a footprint on that land,
Even though His bodies gone.
Many still will grab His hand,
As they wake up every dawn.

The footprints spread throughout the world,
And are much alive today.
But only those who call His name,
Will see the Sonís own ray.

Loved the part about reaching for His hand in the morning...very touching.

It is really awesome to think that Jesus walked in that part of the world. It's even more awesome to know He's alive and well in our hearts. Nice writing.

I know God so love Asia and all the world, this truth is evident in the poem but Asia isn't mention by name.

Oooh, nice. This is beautiful. While I am not well-versed in poetry, I do appreciate a good one.

I am always confused as to whether Israel is in Asia or Europe, as they have often entered and occasionally won the Eurovision Song Contest. I see you are quite right in including them in the continent of Asia.

Hi Brian. Just wanted to leave a quick note to let you know your entry, "The Footprint," actually did very well in the Asia Challenge. Although you didn't receive an award, you made it into the Highest Rankings for Level 1, placing 13th in that Level. Competition in Level 1 is always very intense, so well done.

If you'd like to check the highest rankings for yourself, you can find them here:
http://www.faithwriters.com/Boards/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24717

The highest rankings are posted every Thursday evening on the Message Boards.

You definitely deserve a pat on the back. Well done. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)
