The angelic host had been observing the activities of Elohim for some time. They had watched from the beginning when everything was dark, empty and formless. Great was their rejoicing over the wonders He had brought into being since then.
“What part of Earth is He working on?” one newly arrived seraph asked. “And what is that glittering crystal He is forming inside that mountain?”
“That is the continent which will become known as South America, specifically in a country called Columbia,” a majestic angelic warrior answered. “According to the eternal records, Elohim’s stunning creation, human beings, will find this white crystal known as salt near a village they will call Zipaquira. They will discover how the salt increases the flavor of their food and that it can be used to preserve food for later use. An industry called mining will develop. Some of those who mine the salt will have their own creativity revealed to them, the creativity He gifts them with, to carve deep inside the mountain a beautiful cathedral in which to praise Him.”
“Ah, yes, I have seen that in the Heavenly Manuscript of Time,” an angel endowed with wisdom nodded slowly, his wings folded around him. “Thousands of visitors will come from other countries to view this work of art and worship called Catedral de Sal. The sufferings of the Anointed One will be depicted for all visitors to see, sculpted out of the salt rock. Colored lights will be set up to bring further beauty to each scene. Perhaps through these sculptures they will see their worth to Elohim, how much He loves them and wants to have relationship with them.”
The wise angel’s eyes glimmered as he continued, “The sculptors will try to show how the Son of Elohim took the burden of their sin and misery, which will come as a result of the fall of the first humans, on Hmself. We know Elohim longs for His fallen creatures to accept what the Anointed One did as His gift to them. Then they will have eternal life, abundant and joyful, with Him. Who knew this earthly element could be used to illustrate spiritual transformation so magnificently. May the people of Columbia and the entire world be blessed because of the Hand of Elohim in the Andes Mountains.”
“Indeed!” a voice, ringing with authority and power, came from the back of the heavenly host. “The Anointed One will speak of salt during His ministry on earth when he says to His followers, ‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men’. His created ones will come to understand that He is telling them they benefit their environment by living according to His instructions and by His power.
“Also,” the leader of the angel armies continued, “In the same way, as salt preserves food and keeps it from spoiling, their presence will help to preserve and protect wherever they dwell. One of the wisest of these created ones, a man named Solomon, will point out in a sacred Book that will survive thousands of years, ‘through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.’”
A tremendous shout of praise rose up from the heavenly host, a shout that made the stars tremble. They exalted the Creator, giving Him glory for His creation, all of it intricately designed for teaching His truth to the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve.
