Beyond comprehension

I felt the anger rising inside me ready to erupt like a swollen volcano. My face flushed and I could feel the heated air from my nostrils against my chest as I breathed. They had no right to do this.

Generally speaking, I am slow to anger. However, this was too much---more than one step over the line.

Why? The question kept presenting it’s self with no violable answer. Stupidity, it was just plain stupidity or even worse, it was Satan. Yes, it was Satan’s relentless attack against Christians in these last days.

They kicked God out of School and look what happened. We are no longer allowed to mention God or Jesus in any Federal building or make reference to him and look what happened. Now they want to take God out of Christmas too.

Arising from my chair, I tossed the crumpled newspaper to the floor not caring where or how it landed. In disbelief I stared at it. The Christmas advertisements were anything but. “Holiday tree”, “happy holidays”, and “The holiday season” filled the ads with no mention of Christmas or the birth of Jesus.

I recall seeing this in the stores within the past few weeks. I spoke to a couple of store managers who explained they don’t want to offend anyone. I quickly reminded each, we cannot take God and Jesus out of Christmas. An attempt to do this offends me as well as many others, both Christians and non-Christians. Although we don’t know the exact day Jesus was born, December 25 is the day we celebrate his birth. “Jesus is the reason for the season”, and without his birth there would be no Christmas and no holiday.

Then in my mind, I hear the voice I’ve heard so many times before. “Be still and know that I am God” followed by, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay”. I remember God wants us to pray for these people and I do. God’s peace then surrounds, he comforts me and I know he is in control.

I’ve given considerable thought to this. Not wishing to offend these non-Christian stores, in the future I will only shop at stores that acknowledge the birth of Jesus. This will be the stores not ashamed to put the words Christmas and Jesus in their ads.

Thinking --------In reference to some store owners, managers and Government Officials wishing to take God and Jesus out of Christmas. If there is no Jesus in Christmas, then there is no Christmas and no Christmas Holiday season. No super sales days for the stores. And as for the wimpy Government Officials, no Christmas, then no Christmas holiday vacation or days off. With Christmas Eve and Christmas no longer being acknowledged, it will be just another regular work day for them.

But of course, there is a God, Jesus and Christmas.

Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you”. The Bible describes this place called “Heaven”, prepared for those who love and serve him. He also has a place prepared for those who don’t and it not going to be “cool”.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS”

“JESUS, IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON ”

Lots of VERY good points in here. I think most of us have been disillusioned with "the World's" take on this holiday season. Thank you for reminding us that it is God's job to judge, and giving us practical ways to address the issues.

Good collection of thoughts regarding a tragedy that continues to worsen every year as society continues to remove Jesus from the holiday His birth inspired. Good practical tips too!
