GIFTS FROM ABOVE

In years past, I lost my home, a mobile home sold to me after I had a very horrible injury. Being injured from a patient from the hospital where I worked. I was handicapped. I was on part-time from full time after a year and half of rehab.

My teenage son and I moved in with his father from whom I was divorced, and we survived there until two weeks before Christmas.

There became an opening in a HUB program for the two of us, and we moved our furniture that had been stored in a friendís home what was not with us. We also received the lights, gasoline and some food from church organizations.

Of course, there was no money for gifts to one another and our family, but we were both Christians and had received the Gift of Life from JESUS, our SAVIOR.

A little artificial tree, and some salvaged ornaments and a star angel from of home was our decorations. However, we were very happy to have a warm and lit home again and at Christmas was another gift to us.

One day, I had come home from work, I had to go to work at a dry cleaners alterations lady when I was unable to perform my daily duties at the hospital and they had a mass lay-off. I took some paper, cut into strips, and began to write what GOD blessed us with as gifts from Above. I had never done this before, neither have I done it any more.

Not one single ornament was lacking its own tag of blessing, and the tree was very full with gifts from Above. There was the gift of Salvation, my rundown car, we had survived many trials, we had a cute little apartment, and we had Christian neighbors. We had lights to take bathes, cook and see with, we had water to bathe with and cook as well as cleaning our little home. We had gas that gave a warm feeling, just as JESUSí love gives us, we were close enough to our church, I began cottage prayer meetings.

We were in walking distance of a grocery store, and Donny could visit his Dad whenever he wanted too. We were close to a city park that he took his niece to enjoy.

Sometimes, GOD gives us gifts from Above; we do not realize it is a blessing from HIM. We fail to thank HIM for HIS many blessings. Now in this time is nearing that blessed Day of the Birth of JESUS, who came to earth from Above to save us from our sins. So many people still do not believe in HIM and HIS gifts.

The greatest gift to give a Christian is to see you have received your gift of Salvation. The debt paid on Calvary, and we may obtain it by accepting it and HIS Way. It will cost you no money and in this time when money is very scarce, free is the price for all. It is impossible to buy, steal or borrow this precious gift.

Do you think this year is the perfect year to acknowledge such love as the Gift From Above, the gift of Life Eternal?

I hope you have the greatest gifts from above as you begin to give thanks for your many blessings.

Those blessings from God ARE the greatest gifts we can receive. Thank you for reminding us to be focused on them this season, and always.
