He traveled to his destination, not knowing of his fate.
Before this day would have an end, he would stand at Heavens gate.
The circumstances so severe, that they would take his life.
But with eternity, he had no fear, just sadness for his wife.
Across the country, there was a child, whose heart was failing fast.
Her life would soon be interrupted, it could no longer last.
Her family prayed to Jesus Christ, that He would hear their pleas.
They spent some time most every night, together on their knees.
They always knew that God above could see the future clear.
That in His time, and in His will, would wipe away their fear.
For even if He claimed their child, by taking her to His home.
She would be whole and then at peace, with no more pain to comb.
He now was finally on the road, which would be his final trip.
He did not see the side impact; his blood would start to drip.
As they rushed him to the hospital, his body’s feeling weak.
They searched his cloths and found the card; the one paramedics seek.
It said that in the case of death, they could use his parts again.
To help another maintain life; to give another life new wind.
So as he took his final breath, physicians removed his heart.
And flew it straight across the country; this girl had a brand new start.
They implanted it in her that day, while her family was in prayer.
Her life was in the hands of God, and they knew of His great care.
He breathed new life into that heart, and she claimed it as her own.
With thankfulness and praises great, she had never felt alone.
When she woke up, his heart was beating, so strong and full of life.
When time had passed and she had healed, she asked to meet his wife.
She thanked her for her husband’s heart, and the new life that he gave.
She now had hope of better days, and would never fear the grave.
This happened on a Christmas day, not too many years ago.
Not like the Christ who gave His life; he was just a normal Joe.
But he knew enough to be prepared, when in death he left his wife.
To continue giving to someone else, some hope, “The Gift Of Life.”
