Each year my family and I make sure that we have enough Christmas lights for our house. I like the icicle lights because it makes it look for like Christmas especially when it’s either red, white or green. I also like the kind that blinks on and off. We have a Christmas tree that came that has miniature lights on already.
Each year at least one set of our miniature lights doesn’t work, so we end up throwing out those set of lights. We replace the set of lights with the kind that has a larger bulb, which last a bit longer.
When the end of November comes, I love to see Christmas lights in stores, and on people’s houses. It makes me think of happy the season is even though some people don’t find Christmas a happy season at all.
I also like to see evergreen trees all lit up with the Christmas lights. It makes me that how bright that star was on the night that Jesus was born. Sometimes I stop to think how bright that star had shone as people looked up and saw it.
I like seeing stores with Christmas trees all lit up as I walk through the malls. I get a little bit stressed when I see the stores all filled with customers doing their Christmas shopping.
Christmas lights have often been too commercialized that it takes away the meaning of Christmas. People keep replacing sets of lights almost every year. As for myself I end up getting angry when my icicle lights no longer work. I have to stop and think, and ask myself, what is the meaning is Christmas lights?
