Light one candle for all the world to see
The birth of Christ has come, this day to set us free.
As we begin this season of scripture, hymns, and praise
We’ll learn the times and seasons of the Ancient of Days.
Light one candle for all the world to know
God sent his son to earth, to teach us how to grow.
To live a life of calling, to speak the truth in love,
To follow in his ways, to hear his voice above.
Light one candle to prepare our hearts so strong
For his coming again will not be put off long.
We study the scriptures, the vastness of God’s plan.
We read in wonder, how the world began.
Light one candle remembering his call
He came to save the world - to save us one and all.
He came to us as man, a babe in swaddling clothes,
The scripture did foretell the journey we now know.
Light one candle for all who came before
Whose obedience and faith opened wide the door,
It’s all right there before us, if only we would choose,
To digest and take it in, we have nothing more to lose.
Light one candle, for darkness, death and sin.
The day is not far off, when he will come again.
Anticipate his coming, be joyful for this gift
The world cannot know his love, if we don share with them.
Light one candle – the Advent wreath reminds,
That soon the dark of night will turn to light sublime,
With Jesus as our Savior, he’ll come as Christ the King,
To wipe away each tear. “Praise God!” the angels sing.
Light one candle – for darkness cannot thrive
When one light shines, it brings forth hope and life.
The Father calls us forth to be that hope and light,
To be the vessel of his love, bring hope to this dark night.
Light one candle, as your praises ring,
“Joy to the world”, let your voices sing.
Our savior is coming, has come, will come again
The final victory of life has cast off death and sin!
