My recipe box is a very dear friend
When I need a little chat,
For it contains a lot of memories-
Of good times, and this and that!
The recipes that my daughter typed
For me, when she was young,
With funny little typing errors
That are really a lot of fun!
The recipe of the dearest friend
A person could ever need;
Who's gone on to her rewards
For all of her many good deeds.
Recipes that bring back memories
Of good times had by the score!
Each time that I look at them,
They warm my heart some more.
Yes, recipes can be very dear friends
When you are struck with despair!
They warm your heart and kitchen too
As your memories you carefully prepare!
And then, I think of Gods' recipe Book
That tells the way our lives are planned;
How to live a balanced life
So that life is truly grand!
The first ingredient -acceptance of Christ,
Who is the ONLY Way!
An abundance of love must be stirred in,
To have a perfect day!
A recipe of the way to live
As husband and as wife:
And the respect that children should have
To lead a long, and blessed life!
Yes, for every thing you face in life,
There's a recipe of Gods' plan;
That warms our hearts, and fills with faith!
