Joy to the World

Joy to the world our savior has come!
Let all mankind rejoice!
Put down your worries
It is not the time for sorrow
Your baby boy is come
Born in the City of Bethlehem
Somewhere in Jerusalem

Joy to the world
Your savior has come
To humanity
It’s okay to be zesty
But please let’s not be loathsome
He came over thousands of years ago
As he foresaw
It feels like yesterday
But let’s celebrate His Life today!

Joy to the world!
Our savior reigns
This holiday season
Is about Him
Not about Jingle Bells
Or Santa Claus
It is not about Christmas Party

Take the Bible
From its hiding space
Sit by a cozy fireplace
Read about his birth
And be merry
Drink hot chocolate
And be amazed!

Joy to the world
Our Savior has come
Let all of mankind rejoice
In his story
This is all it is about:
His love for us!
Joy to the world!

An orignal Christmas carol! Nice idea!

I found some of the word choices a bit odd and/or forced, particularly in the second stanza--"zesty" and "loathsome" stood out in that regard.

I'd love to hear this set to music.
