Every year at our Coffee Break Meeting at church, we also get together to sing Christmas Carols, and hymns. We also hold a candle light service the Sunday before Christmas, and we listen to the choir in which I participated one year.
A couple of times, my father or I played the piano, and my mother, and brothers sat down in the basement, and sang Christmas songs together on Christmas Eve.
Every Christmas I especially think about the birth of Christ, and how he came into this world. Christmas is not only about singing carols, but about Jesus Christ, and spending time with family. Every year my children, husband, and I like to receive gifts, but we never forget the true meaning of Christmas. Over the years Chrismtas has been too commercialized.

A lot of what you describe is a very familiar, traditional Christmas...if you expand this, consider adding something distinctive or unique. And your last sentence, while very true, doesn't seem to go with the rest of the story--it's more like the beginning sentence of its own separate essay.
I'd love to read more of this!
