I love to hear the Christmas songs and know most very well.
They bring some joy to a fallen world; they seem to cast a spell.
They’ve been around for quite some time and their purpose very clear.
To lift us up and sing the praise, of God who is so dear.
My mom would play them all year long, and the words she loved to sing.
Even to this very day, in my mind I hear them ring.
Now she sings a Heavenly tune with the choir from up above.
The words I’m sure are still the same; she sings them with great love.
In younger days I did some caroling; twas so many years ago.
With others from a group at church, from house to house would flow.
The joy we saw on each ones face was worth the bitter cold.
To extend to all some of Gods grace, with carols from the old.
I still love to sing those songs, which give glory to the Lord.
This time of year we join together, and sing in one accord.
We’ll celebrate the birth of Christ, the reason we are free.
To live a life in victory, and help the world to see.
We sing about a manger lowly, and then a silent night.
And it came upon a midnight clear, just seemed to fit so right.
That little town of Bethlehem was known by one and all.
Then came all ye faithful, to hasten to His call.
I can hear the herald angels sing, about the first noel.
And in my heart it still will ring of the worlds greatest tell.
It brings such joy to a world gone bad; this wonderful story of love.
Each one we sing still has the ring of a God who reigns above.
Do you know these songs today? Can you sing them with a friend?
Will you take the message to the world? Will you help their lives to mend?
There is a purpose to these carols; It’s to give the Savior praise.
To lift Him up with majesty, and our spirits then will raise.
Don’t let this season pass you by, and the world just get you down.
For there is hope in God on high to take away that frown.
He’ll put the joy back in your heart, and your life will be set free.
So the challenge that I give to you, is please, “Come Sing With Me.”
