Are you playing the game or not? The man said to his friend.
The time is flying by so fast and it pretty soon will end.
So decide what you are going to do before it starts to rain.
Whether you’ll sit in that seat or do you want to feel some pain.
His friend now looked bewildered trying to think of what to say.
Would he stay where it is safe or step right up and play?
What if I will hurt myself and can’t make it back to work?
Then I can’t feed my family and will feel just like a jerk.
This thought would start to haunt him as he got up off his seat.
He knew that if he didn’t partake he would never feel complete.
There was a fear inside him that put a flutter in his heart.
But if he did not play the game he would never do his part.
It’s easy just to talk of sports where an analogy is made.
We think real life is different which leaves us much afraid.
There also is a sideline as we pursue our way through life.
And somehow if we stay there we will still feel all life’s strife.
One thing that we know for sure is the pain of life is real.
And whether in the game or not we cannot escape its feel.
We can choose to be part of the team with the end zone in our site.
Or we can go this life alone and we’ll always feel the night.
I’m glad that when Christ came to earth He stepped up to the plate.
He knew His death was certain for this would be His fate.
The love He had for others and a purpose that was clear.
Would keep Him off the side lines and would take away the fear.
He knew His Father was watching Him as the days would pass Him by.
His goal was just to do His will until His time to die.
He did His part to save the people who had lived their lives of sin.
He had compassion on all others and the need to help them win.
So are you in the game today? Do you want to do your part?
Don’t you think its time to play and make that brand new start?
Just trust in God to lead you through and He will deal with all your fear.
Then you will not have to say, “The View Looks Good From Here.”
