In a Moment……
Mirrored walls reflecting
Remnants of the past
Mingling with the present
And the people clinging
To what used to be
Walking by in their disparity.
Driving relentlessly
Pursuing ancient dreams
With modern technology
Indiscriminately
Failing miserably
Until in a moment--
A flash!
A sudden inspiration--
Of facing reality;
Causes their minds
To ponder
The definition of life
Upon this earth
And thereafter---
Who am I?
Do I have a Maker?
Am I alone or is their someone
Who lends their credibility
to my individuality?
A blinding flash of light
Is sometimes necessary
To reveal
The One Who calls us precious
Honoring us with His presence
With a free gift
To receive carefully,
Joyfully,
Everlastingly!
For God gives
Mercifully and gracefully
To all who repent and believe
And cry out to Him
By faith
For life abundantly!
Abiding
In the security of His shadow
For eternity!
And this can happen
In a moment-
In the twinkling of an eye
Transformed beyond
Recognition
For salvation
Has come to this city
Layered in glass and steel,
Reflecting the glory
Of the One and Only.
