I write a lot of stories
That I think are not too bad.
And when I enter in a contest
It seems Iím being had.

I write on many subjects
That may cover the entire map.
And when I see my placement
I think my mind will snap.

The stories tell some form of truth
And rhyme all the way through.
Their purpose is to inspire hope
And take away some blue.

I do it all in story form
With inspiration from above.
Then try to leave the reader
With a feeling of Godís love.

For most of them the Lord inspires
And in 20 minutes are a wrap.
They make you smile and think a lot
So I hope your mind wonít snap.

When writing for a contest
And the topic is not mine.
They do not flow as easily
As when God sends me His line.

I better now move forward
And not think my writings crap.
I thank God for His encouragement
For I know His mind wonít snap.

So I encourage all you writers
When with the winners you donít find.
Please donít be discouraged
And think youíve lost your mind.

Don't get discouraged...just think of it as practice. Every time we write, we improve a little...so keep writing!

I thank you for your poetry, that is me there right in the middle of all those lines.

Every time I want to quit, my mind just gets full of more and more words...

Keep on writing...great poem.

I enjoyed it.

Thanks for the smile
I've found one of the secrets to good writing is to edit and revise some more. If you take 20 min to write your piece, then come back the next day and give it another 20 minutes of love and care.
