Nothing speaks of passing time like the beach.

The constant pounding of the waves is a loud echo of the blood that pounds in our ears after a long run. It is almost like the water is the lifeblood of the earth, responding to the beating of her heart as our planet races through time. One day, as will the heart that beats in our chest, her heart will stop - it is written. But her heart of molten stone will be replaced by God’s heart when He calls for a new earth.

We find so many answers on the beach. Even though it is made up of nothing more than crushed shells, we all ponder over the footsteps we leave behind.

I too found myself looking for answers on a beach, wondering if I was like sand and hoping I was. If I was to go through a furnace, then perhaps the sand of my life could become glass through which God could shine. I marvelled at the footprints I left behind, I was making my mark on the world, but looking back I saw how the water washed them away until any trace of my passing was gone. It saddened me, could I ever be anything in this life? The question ached in my heart, but the Spirit’s reply was swift, “Whatever you achieve in this world will be like footprints in the sand, the waters of time will eventually wash them away, but eternal will be the footprints you make in the lives of others. Walk with grace, and remember, blessed are the feet of he who comes in the Name of the Lord.”

I can't believe no one has commented on this article! I love it! There is so much we can learn from God's creation, and all we need to do is open our hearts and listen to what the Holy Spirit will teach us. Great article, thanks for sharing with us!

Hey someone has to be first, thats the only reason no one's commented. Besides, all the other are still sitting back daydreaming about the words and thoughts in this well written story. It sure is food for thought. Well done.

I remember I was right in the middle of writing a comment here--and lightning crashed through a thunder storm, and I had to turn off the computor--sorry!
This right in there! Good job on writing.

Deep, introspective thoughts. I love this from your quote: "eternal will be the footprints you make in the lives of others."
