Clay is laid on the Potter’s wheel. A new vessel begins its shaping. Birth.
“What will You make with this one?”
“Something very special to serve in My Temple.”
“I’d like to watch. May I, LORD?”
“Clarence, you are more than welcome. Why, you can even be his guardian angel!”
“Wonderful.”
I feel a gentle hand on me. Spinning, spinning, spinning. Oh, I think I see something. I might be taking shape. What will I be?
Spinning, day after day. Slowly taking form. Each new day, as the earth rotates, reveals more of the characteristics of the forming lump of clay.
At times, the vessel thinks he is complete. He pours things into himself for which he was not designed. Spinning.
“LORD, my job of looking after him is becoming more difficult. With each new day, he seems to becoming more confused. He believes and is doing things contrary to Your will. Sometimes he actually thinks he is forming himself. Are You sure You are making a vessel for Your Temple?”
“My Hand is still upon him. He will be formed as I desire.”
“But, LORD, look at the shape he’s in.”
“He must reach the point I want, then and only then, will the clay be more moldable.”
Spinning, spinning, spinning. Seemingly out of control.
SMACK! Oh, that hurt!
“LORD, he is crumbled. His previous form is no longer evident.”
“Yet, My Hand is still upon him.”
Spinning, spinning, spinning. Each spin, each new day, reveals a more formed vessel, becoming fit for use in His Temple.
The Hands smooth the edges, as the vessel takes shape a large hole is formed and God starts pouring His Spirit in to fill it. Slowly at first as the vessel is not yet complete, in its final form, and still being molded
“LORD, won’t putting Your Spirit into an unformed, fire hardened vessel ruin it?”
“I want My Spirit to permeate the entire vessel. Those who look upon him to see Me shining through him. They will know I AM there.”
Spinning, Hands upon him, spinning, more of his final form is being revealed, spinning.
“Oh, such beauty. Thank you, LORD, for allowing me to see this. I have wanted to look into Your work for a long time.”
“I know. But you will never fully understand without being in the Potter’s Hand yourself.”
“It is humbling to see Your love at work, LORD.”
“Clarence, you are allowed to watch the next process but only interfere when I tell you to. Be thankful you do not have to experience this but when he is finished he will glow brighter than you. He will be my worthy vessel and welcomed into My Kingdom.”
The spinning slows and gentle hands pick the vessel out of the world he has been accustomed to and gently, avoiding marring His work so far, places him into a fiery furnace.
Help me, LORD! I can’t stand the heat!
“Now, LORD?”
“Not yet. Watch as his faith becomes firm.”
LORD, how long?
“Son, just a little longer. I AM with you.”
“Did he hear you?”
“Yes, he heard Me. Look, the vessel is glowing.”
“Clarence, it is time. Remove the vessel from the fire. He is now ready for his final, amazing touch but it can only be accomplished here, in My presence. Fly and bring him to Me.”

How can a vessel pour something into itself?
This would make a really good dramatic reading for three voices.
