The hot sand on my bare feet, and the smell of the sea had triggered clandestine memories. My sense of smell and touch had betrayed me, stripping away the protective skin revealing my raw and bloody wound of abuse.
The memories were buried so deep within the recesses of my young mind that only God could resurrect them, and that He did.
Tears wet, and intrusive began to pour down my face. Like fiery darts it burned as it ran down my cheeks. I could think of nothing but the pain as I sat on the hot beach, seeking an escape from the intrusion.
Just then I looked up to see Jesus, my Lord and Savior. He gently began tending my wounds. He first applied the water, washing away all filth of un-forgiveness. Second, His blood flowed from the wound cleansing me of shame and guilt. Then Jesus applied love, soothing the pain and suffering, leaving only the changed life that He so desired me to have. Jesus was not satisfied with a life of torment, He loved me too much. Yes, I had to undergo surgery, but that was far better than allowing the enemy, who had injected the poison inside me, to watch as it ate away at my sanity.
