We live on a small Island. There are those who would like to build a bridge from the mainland to this lovely place. But this place is special and there are many like me who donít want it spoiled.
Here things go at a slower pace so we have to be patient, as we found out when we moved here and had to wait longer for the things we ordered like a greenhouse and furniture.
Some people talk about this Island as Godís Garden. Well they are right. This is as near to being Eden as anywhere on earth.
We first came here on our honeymoon some 48 years ago. From then on it was our dream to live here. But the years rolled by and the children came and things were tough. We came each year for two weeks to our garden Isle not over a bridge but by ferry. There were a couple of times when we considered trying to move but came upon too many obstacles.
When we were both in our 50s my husband was made redundant from the railways.
So we decided this was the time. We would risk the move and make the dream come true.
This is where my God built a bridge for us.
It was the eighties and the middle of a depression. There were many houses up and down our street that had been for sale for two years or more. Still it felt right and we put ours on the market. I told my prayer group what we were planning to do and many prayers were said. We knew we had to look for a modest house at the price we could afford to buy for cash no mortgage.
As I left the prayer meeting one evening one of our group said to me. ď I got a picture tonight of a bungalow and it had a sloping drive leading up to it.Ē
I told him that if we managed to buy a bungalow that definitely would be a miracle.
Well long story short, God found us that bungalow at a price we could afford and although the market was slow, we sold up and moved in exactly 3 months.
We have lived here now for just over 16 years. We now live in a nice flat overlooking a park through which we go up onto the cliffs overlooking the sea.
This is a poem I wrote some years before we came to live on our Island paradise.
CONTENTMENT
When God has placed you in a garden with the sea at your front door,
Whatever there is in the whole wild world, you could ask for nothing more.
The seagulls flying above you and the sand beneath your feet,
So whether the sky be grey or blue, your life is quite complete.

I thank the God who stretched out his arms and made a bridge between me and His Father, that He also made a bridge from the mainland to here ,so that we could have a taste of paradise here on earth.

Ah.... beautiful! I've dreamed of living on an island. We live on the coast of Maine and can see many islands from here. Where do you live?
I suggest that you leave an extra space between paragraphs to make it easier for the readers.
I love your ending poem.

You did a wonderful job of sharing how God heard your pray and answered. He is always faithful. I appreciate how you give Him praise with your poem.
