A time of peace
There
I find
It gives me room
To unwind
My mind

The stresses of life
And the strains
Of each trudging day
Like a tonic
Like tears
It washes the pain away
Bringing restoration
Each time to my soul
Each time
Once again

Here
I stand
I find
Peace
I find
On the sand

In the midst of Gods creation
Dashing skies
Of grey and blue
Rolling waves of thunder
Crashing
Ringing true

Itís time
To receive
The
Stillness
Itís time to listen
To the One

With the Lord
To walk with
A friend
To unload the load
To rest
At the bend
To sit and lay your head
On His chest

A reminder
Of His splendour
Of His grandeur on high
His majesty
His magnificent creation
A reminder
He is in charge
No matter what
I am going through
He is there with me
He is there too

Your poem written in free verse allows you a freedom to unwind and put your thoughts on the One on whose chest you can lay your head. Very good entry.

Ah, to lay my head on His chest, bringing restoration to my soul. Beautifully said.

The choppiness of the words remind me of the tumbling waves!

I liked this for the love and peace and refuge that you described as found when we rest close to His chest. To hear His heartbeat, perhaps? To be so intimate with Him that there can be no mistake as to His will? Thank you for this poem!
