Today we slept in till 5:30 and it was luscious. My sweetie typically arises first, leaving me alone to enjoy a few minutes of whole-bed-time to myself…and that’s luscious! However, this morning I regretted those few stolen minutes of luxury, wishing I’d have risen with him to fold the contents of our dryer which was “in storage" there for a few days.

Rounding the entry to his dressing area I was greeted by my gentle giant flossing his teeth, dressed only in his reserve, wear-only-in-emergency underwear. They are a perfectly good pair of undies, come on, they’re hardly ever worn, so they’re too good for the dumpster but too embarrassing for Salvation Army or the grandkids dress-up box.

I think he looks kind of cute in his black boxers decorated with fluorescent yellow smiley faces! However, the look on his face didn’t reflect a feeling of cuteness. In fact, he might have at least tried to take a cue from his attire and attempted to match those smiles.

“I’m guilty,” squeaked out my morning-voice confession, stuffing an enormous cackle.

Sweetie went to Philly and back this week on top of extra hours spent on an unusually heavy work load in the office…so, when the cat’s away…yes, I’ve been playing, not concentrating on the tedious tasks of daily necessities. This morning I was greeted with a visual manifestation of my negligence. But, it’s the kind of negligence that can crack a smile on most faces…just not Sweeties.

Imagine my surprise when I opened up Faith Writer’s today to the new challenge…Concentration…I let loose with that enormous cackle. At least one of us is wearing a huge smiley face today…on our face!

Whoever comes up with the challenge…thank you! I for one needed a reminder on priorities today. So, I won’t be entering on this week’s challenge! I’ll be concentrating on “the precious” this week…I’ll catch you when the laundry is done…

And if you extract the precious from the worthless, you will become My spokesman. Jeremiah 15:19 (NASB)

It’s time for a little extracting.
