I always wonder if the telephone has been invented to help us or make us miserable.
Let me explain: Does the telephone rings when you are waiting for a call? No.
Does the phone rings when you are sitting doing nothing, or bored and would like to chat with someone, anyone? No.
Does the telephone rings at a respectable time in the evening? Of course not!
In our house the telephone always rings when : I’m in the shower, or I have just sat on the loo or when I have just closed the doors and everything is locked, when I’m coming back from work and rush at the door but miss the call anyway, or when I’m in the back garden or the worst time when the children have finally settled down and start to sleep , or even when it’s the best part in the movie or the soap ( and the other person on the telephone is phoning you to try to sell you some insurance !) and I could go on for hours !
I have come to look at our telephone as my enemy; we live in the same house but don’t like each other.
