Father, if only I could be a more like you,
Iíd rise above struggles to see life from Your view,
Please stop trials and temptations from making me lame,
Praise You Heavenly Father, hallowed be Thy name,

Only You can understand and truly appreciate,
Lifeís big twists and turns in a family of eight,
As the Creator of all seen and unseen things,
Like all of the troubles raising our children brings,

You, mom, and I love them more than theyíll ever know,
Somehow even their misbehaving helps us grow,
I take them all to ball games just to see them grin,
Then why do I let their actions get under my skin?

Only You know the number of hairs on their heads,
You can view their dreams long after weíre in our beds,
You love them so much more than we humanly can,
Through Your Spirit draw them into Your Family plan.

Give them wisdom and knowledge from Your Holy Word,
And strength to use scripture as a powerful sword,
Hide it way down in their hearts where it'll take root
Through its seeds grow fresh love for Your Spiritís Fruit.

Thank You for the knowledge that Youíll be there for them,
Thank You for grafting such a large and troubled stem,
Into Your family Tree and making us so glad,
Thank You dear Father for choosing me as their dad.

Amen!

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV) Letís enjoy life abundantly by making time to count our blessings one by one at least once per week. Letís mark it on our calendars. Happy Fathers Day!
