I struggle with major depression and anxiety. Anxiety can be paralyzing fear that won’t let go. Depression debilitates; it makes one feel unmotivated, weak, and extremely fatigue. Even though my aunt struggles with cancer, she identifies with my ailment.
Christian family members need one another. Building one another up in Christ is what God commands. In this world we will have tribulations, but Jesus overcomes the world through peace. It’s peace that we need, not material possessions; not a million dollars, not a fancy car or home; We need Jesus.
Jesus supplies all our needs. When we lack in food, clothing or shelter, Jesus has a way of providing those basic human needs. We are commanded to pray and have faith that our needs would be met.
On a further note, I’m an Aunt. I have a nephew who’s five and a niece who will be seven in May. I hope to be a godly example to my niece and nephew as they grow older. Already, my young niece struggles with emotional turmoil. I want to be there for her when times get rough. I want to encourage her when she’s having a “bad day.” I want to show her as she gets older, that she can cope with emotional distress.
God can do the impossible. When doctors say nothing can be done about our ailments, God steps in. God’s grace is sufficient in our weakness. Our weakness shows up Christ -- for without Christ, we are nothing; we can’t be healed without Christ. I Thank God for his mercy and goodness. It is He who will set me, my Aunt Joan, and my seven year old niece free.
As Christian families encourage one another, we will grow stronger together. We overcome through the Prince of Peace.
