" Hey kids buckle up," said uncle Ken as he took his 2 niece's Stephanie and Caitlyn and his nephew Bobby swimming.

That is the way life was like for uncle Ken 10 years ago. His goal was to be a big brother to these precious family members. He would take them out on there birthday to Camp Snoopy or to a Vikings game. Camp Snoopy was an amusement park located in the middle of the Mall Of America.

There was also the time when Ken took his niece Caela to the "Chapel of Love." That was located in a shopping mall. Outside of the chapel, they had wedding dresses, and everything you would need for a wedding. She was only 8 at the time and she tried on a headpiece, and she looked so cute in it. Uncle Ken kicked himself at the time because he did not have a camera

Ken's Goal was to be a positive influence and show the love of Jesus. Through this experience the learned how much he loved kids, and that he had the spiritual gift of encouragement.

Children are a gift from God; they need an adult that is not always yelling at them like there parents. That can bring enjoyment into their lives as they are growing up. I came from a broken home. I wished I had an uncle Ken in my life to take me places. Hebrews 10:24 says, And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hopefully I had a positive impact on these kids that will have a positive impact in their lives as adults.

There = place. Their = people. There are so many 'bad parent' stories another one makes me cringe. There were probably good times somewhere along the way. Try a little Philippians 4:8. God bless you.

Enjoyed this little piece. Uncle Ken sounds wonderful - thanks for bringing him into my living room.
