Grandparents

Grandparents are grand
They become parents righthand
They are blessings from above
Giving us life's guidances with love

The trials they have lived through
Should only give us a clue
That their knowledge can help us through
When parenthood is old or new

In the moments of that first child
Parents will experience how things can go wild
From illnesses and growing years
Grandparents are there to help comfort their fears

The experiences that they have had and know
Is a library of childhood facts that overflow
So as we go through good times or bad
They have good pointers to add

Things may have not always gone right
As, we the parents now, recite
But that has been how life's lessons seem to be
There may not be always a guarantee

Every child is God's personal and individual creation
So it takes parents through a special adaptation
Grandparents are there with a helping hand
That is how God had it planned

Grandparents will be close by
For grandchildren are the twinkle of their eye
The love that is shared
Is no other that can be compared

Grandparents may be old and gray
As grandchildren may say
But their hearts are made of gold
And grandchildren they love to hold

Lovely sentiments about grandparents--makes me look forward to that phase of my life.

I'd encourage you to look for more complex and original rhymes. Rhymes like "love" and "above" can be found in so many poems--work on finding ways to make yours stand out from the rest.

It's wonderful to think of the ways that grandparents can enhance a family! Many good thoughts presented here.

Simple but eloquent. A nice poem and it admirably sings the praise of granparents.
