Rose raced around the yard looking for Easter Eggs. Each one held a prize piece of chocolate candy. Given a job to do Rose always carried it out as soon as possible, and totally focused on the task at hand---including this Easter Egg Hunt.
I could hear her laughing saying, "Oh, I found one. Look, here's another one." Tears filled my eyes when I saw the genuine joy and childlike glee that was on Rose's face.
At 85 years of age she was on her first Easter Egg Hunt ever. Searching and hunting with her for eggs were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. At first she was a little reluctant to go, but being a child at heart, we soon convinced her to go on the hunt.
"Oh great grandma, help me I can't reach this one." Megan said. Rose's agility always amazed me. I would often comment to her, "You have less arthritis than I do Mom."
My grandchildren always bring me great joy, as only granchildren can do. This day however, it was far surpassed by the older generation. It is one of those special memories that I will cherish, and will live with me forever.
