You can say one thing and mean another
How would I know that? Because every time, you shrug your shoulder
You smile and say yes with a negative tone
You frown and say that you’re proud
And expect for me to feel welcomed at home.
How am I supposed to know what you mean?
When your face and your mouth say two different things?
Can you explain? Or am I just insane?
I guess I will assume that you will know what it means
When I walk out the room and say “yeah, I know what you what you mean.”
You will wonder if I really do or why I walked out of the room
And I will give you a ugly look and say “I love you too”
You will get mad and start feeling bad, blaming it all on me
And I will be so carefree and happy as if you were not even there
Then I will say to you, I can say one thing and mean another too.

A lot of pain is written about in this entry. It's hard to know how to behave when people around us give us mixed messages. We need to learn how to be true to our friends and family members with words AND deeds.

Wow! This petite rhyme packed a whole lotta punch. VERY effective!

Wow -- This is one powerful paragraph! Oftentimes it's not WHAT we say....it's HOW we say it. Do we mean what we say when we say what we mean? ...I could see this being acted out as a one person skit.

this is very powerful.
