Where every small detail
Is optimal, with plentitude.
…But this world chased it’s tail.
Fancy now that you’re a flea
In realms you jump all over.
You’re proud to be a subject of
The Commonwealth of Rover.
In your world, feeding spots abound.
Conditions are ideal.
For lunch -- the leg, teatime -- the tail,
The neck scruff -- dinner’s meal.
Your life is good with dreams to raise
A family. You’re in charge!
Your aspirations mammoth --
For a flea, you’re livin’ large.
Envisage now that in your world
Of bark, wet nose, and fur,
He dons a new embellishment --
A canine flea collar.
Decisions must be made, and fast.
Conditions are hostile.
Without remorse you leave the beast --
A self-imposed exile.
If you keep a good attitude
The chance that you’ll succeed
Is greater, while exploring for
Buffets on which to feed.
Ahoy there! Look now if you will,
A feline… can you see? --
A chance at immigration to
Republic of Fluffy.

Love the ending.
I LOVE this stanza:
Envisage now that in your world
Of bark, wet nose, and fur,
He dons a new embellishment --
A canine flea collar.

I was hoping for more... different "enemies"... a scratching paw, a bubble bath, etc. :)
Great job
