Watch out! Here comes the duster!

I ask you, how many times have we hankered after the latest Christian CD or book? I don’t know about you, but I’ve got so many worship CD’s that I can’t remember half of the words anymore!

Do they ever get looked after? Sadly not! There they lay, out of their cases looking lonely and dejected. Actually, that makes me think of my husband. No, He’s not lonely and dejected! But his family used to say to him, before he married me, that he was going to be left on the shelf. Well! I just came along and dusted him off! With God’s help of course!

Is this what happens to our bibles? I admit I don’t look after mine as much as I should do. Maybe God’s trying to tell me something. What about you? I’m sure you look after your Bible, and never leave it lying around to gather dust like mine. Do you think God wants to show you something that needs dusting off in your life? Have you got a gift that’s not being used to it’s fullest? Or even a gift that God hasn’t shown you yet, and is hiding beneath the surface of the dust, just waiting to be used. Maybe you could take some time out today and ask him if there’s something that needs dusting off. I certainly will be! You never know! God might surprise you with what he says! Oh, and watch out for the dust!

Nice. A good exhortation for all of us. God bless you.

For a lack of a better cliche, short and sweet. I like it. This is so true (of every Christian, I suppose).
