Words

Thank you for this gift oh Lord
Help me to share it with the world
The wonderful gift of words
Words that calm the storm within
Words that show how we can begin
Words that help with lives that are sad
Words that speak peace when things are bad
Words that bring comfort to the lonely of heart
Words that encourage and create a spark
Words that inspire people to succeed
Words that when spoken meet unspoken needs
Words that bring faith to those who are lost
Words that bring joy as they lead to the cross
Words that provide hope, love, peace and concern
Words that help your people learn to discern
Words that teach us to come to you in prayer
Words that can instruct us to fellowship and share
Words that can make people laugh or cry
Words that leave the listener with a contented sigh
Although I admit Iíve taken Your gift for granted
I want to say thank you for the seed that You planted
Youíve watered this gift now please help it grow
Not for fame or for some big show
Itís so You can teach me to understand
My small place in your master plan.

Love those words!

You really show your tender, thankful spirit.

A bit more regularity of meter, perhaps, would help this poem to flow.

I like the repetition; it makes your poem very appealing visually.
