Heave!
Oh! Doesnít it look so exciting!
The unfamiliar and winding road
Upon, which weíre about to tread
What is going to come upon us?
So unfamiliar around the bend

Ho!
Oh no!
Wrongs, failures, disappointments
Were my memories when I tried this before
Such a long time ago
Can I ever let go?
Iím just full of dread and woe

Heave!
A revelation, does appear
Especially at this time of year
So surprising
Oh, the excitement!
Come on you can do it!

Ho!
Are you sure?
Last time I blew it
It seems so hard
Iím just not sure I can do it!
When I focus on whatís gone before
Oh it just seems such a chore!

Heave!
Oh, come on now
Youíre not alone
Donít you know?
You can hold a hand, or two
Yes there is one
Whoíll get you through

Ho!
I think Iíll just hold on to a little bit
Iím not so sure
You see
Itís just that I didnít enjoy the last one
It was such a bore!

Heave!
Its time for you to let go, you know!

Ho!
Oh! I do know!
Iím just so frightened!

Heave!
I know! I know!
You can do it, because youíre not on your own

Ho!
With a simple flick, the rope was dismissed
Okay!
Iíve done it!
It was easier than I thought!

Heave!
Yes!
Well done you!
Itís so good when we let go of the past
So we can get on with the future.

I agree with Marianne. This isn't a beginner's writing. More advanced. Loved the way you built on your begging sentence. It was a blessing!

Well Done! I really enjoyed this -- a good read! Pat

Interesting. Open form poetry, a very e.e. cummings approach. Will probably look at this a number of times.

Good in the way you manage to portray so much action and emotion.
