From A Mother To Her Daughter

I told someone recently that when God gives you an appointment…..you have a choice. To say yes or no. Mothers today are busier than ever and it’s easy for us NOT to get involved in other peoples lives. Especially when that involvement requires more time and energy than we THINK we have. I’ve pondered this subject a lot in recent weeks and I can think of countless times when I was someone’s appointment by God. And when I think about how those situations and decisions would have turned out without that intervention…..I am thankful that each one of those people said YES to God.

Just over fifteen years ago….God blessed me with a beautiful little girl. As I have watched her grow in her faith….I have seen many times when God worked through someone else to redirect her life down the path that is HIS will for her. I have also seen where SHE has been the one God uses to help change someone else’s life. She has willingly and thoughtfully accepted God’s will NOT ONLY in her own life but in the lives of the people who are fortunate enough to know her. I stand in awe as I see how the influences of so many people shape her life and then I am awestruck as I see how she influences my life and changes me for the better.

God uses her to anchor me and keep me grounded…..He uses her to show me how much He loves me…..He makes me believe in miracles through her.

She is my flesh and blood….born of my body….but in truth she does not belong to me. She is the daughter of a king…a princess. I am only her earthly mother…..the one God entrusted to be her guardian here on earth while He prepares a place for her. SHE is MY most sacred appointment. For as much as I love her…..HE loves her SO much more.

I love you , Jessica.

Thank you for reminding me that as parents we are indeed rearing princes and princesses.
