Angels of Hope
Extreme anger
Passionate displeasure
Bad attitude
Go back – NEVER
They never loved me
They never shared
Did they even know me?
They never cared
Hopelessness rules
Weariness reigns
Despair and discouragement
Who can I blame?
No where to sleep
Emotions unstable
Wandering aimlessly
Homeless – my label
Mouth-watering aroma
What’s up ahead?
A place for a feed
Some soup and some bread
Stomach is screaming
Shall I give in?
Fear is so strong
But hunger must win
Comfort and warmth
Pulls from the night
Kind friendly faces
Angels of light
Darkness dispersed
Makes me forget
All of my pain
And all the neglect
Encouraging words
Gracious and wise
Making the tears
Flow from my eyes
Help from an angel
With whom I confided
It’s time to go home
Now anger’s subsided
As it is national missing person’s week in Australia, this is the perfect time to honor all the volunteers of the soup kitchens around our country.
They really are angels of light to the 16,000 or so missing and homeless.
We can all pray, but the act of serving in this instance is more powerful.
Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. For faith without works is dead.
