The demons were there. Jeering Him. Bending the crowd to hate and despise the man hanging from the tree. That was a dark day. The whole of the battalion was agitated. The order was to wait, but Taillys couldn’t hold on to his anger. His lust for blood and vengeance had spew forth from his mouth and he cursed loudly and said, “We fight now!”
He raised his sword high above his head and shouted to the army of angels at his command, “I cannot sit idly by while the Son of the One True God is beaten! God would rather His Son be spared! Let’s show these fallen imps the real scorn of the One True God!”
All Taillys felt was anger and hate for the things that were happening around him. He couldn’t understand in his lust for justice that something bigger was taking place. Something that could not be won by a victory in battle. None of them understood fully, but Aldrain stood next to Taillys and tried to calm him down.
“The orders were to wait,” Aldrain said quietly. “You mean to go against the order of the Lord?”
Taillys turned on Aldrain and looked him straight in the arrogantly. His eyes had a blood-red glaze over them. Taillys spit in Aldrain’s face. “He knows not of what He orders!” he screamed at Aldrain. “He has lost his command. In the face of this, you expect me to sit idly by while the Son of the One True God is murdered, and laughed at by that filth?”
“That is the order.”
“Then you stay here,” Taillys said through a menacingly, clenched jaw. He turned to the rest of the legion of angels and shouted, “If you would like to sit here in your cowardice like Aldrain, and not kill these filthy imps, then stay. Stay and watch your friends and family fight and win. Win for the Lord.”
“No,” Aldrain said strongly, causing Taillys to falter. “If you go, you are only fighting for yourself. The order of the Lord was to wait. If anyone chooses to go, we cannot save you from yourself.”
This only angered Taillys more. This was his friend, his apprentice, turning on him. Betraying him. He yelled a loud roar and cried, “With me!” He charged forward along with nearly half of the standing army. They charged the crowd and surrounding demons. But as they grew near, a loud clap of thunder sounded and they were all cast to the ground before reaching their targets. The force with which they were thrown to the ground, shook and cracked the Earth beneath them. The crowd reacted to the earthquake and eagerly began to disperse.
A loud, powerful voice boomed from everywhere at once, sounding like thunder and lightning, “You have gone against the One True God. You are henceforth banished from the kingdom of Heaven, and will reside the rest of your days not in Hell, but trapped on this Earth, never to be at rest.”
Aldrain could see Taillys screaming in agony in the field. He wanted to go to him, to pick up his mentor and bring him home, but he knew. He knew that his friend, his mentor, was gone. Dead in that instant when he decided to go against the One True God. He could hear Taillys spitting curses up to the heavens. Curses at the Son. Taillys was now stuck between worlds. Trapped in the Earth, and he was angry. Aldrain knew right then that the time would come when he would be asked to put an end to Taillys, but that wasn't the time. The Lord had bigger plans than anyone could have thought of for the Son.
