MY MOTHER
My mother is like the virtuous woman
Described in Proverbs thirty-one
She is worth far above rubies
The heart of my Daddy safely trusts her
My Mother does my Daddy good, not evil
I just love my Mother!
My Mother provides food for our household
My Mother is strong and wise as an ant
Who doesn’t shrink from impossible duties
She extends her hand toward the poor
Her lamp doesn’t grow dim by night
She’s the best Mother around!
She keeps our family warmly clothed
We are dressed well
She sews and stitches and repairs clothes
Makes clothing out of good fabrics
And doesn’t settle for the worst and cheapest stuff around
Isn’t she the greatest Mother?
My Mother clothes herself in strength and honor
When she opens her mouth, she speaks forth wisdom
The law of kindness is on her tongue at all times
She never eats the bread of idleness
She will rejoice in due time, for the good she has done
Don’t I have the sweetest Mother ever found?
I, her firstborn daughter, rise up and call her blessed
All her children take pride in her
Her husband, my Daddy, praises her
Many daughters have done well
But my Mother, she excels them all
I love my Mother, for she is one who fears the Lord.
