The Origin of Strength

There’s nothing like it on earth. She’s the air that you breathe. She’s everything. She’s the center of your world. In her eyes you’re perfect. You can do no wrong. Then all of a sudden she’s gone. In a matter of moments you can’t get back your little girl is now a woman.

And with each little prayer that you make you ask for the wisdom you’ll need to get through. Because of all others in the world she’s dependant on you. You are her mother, there is no other. When your heart overtakes you, there’s no room for mistakes. You do the best that you can and hope it’s ok. This is the origin of strength.

The hardest parts are the days when you want to give up and you would, if it wasn’t for her love. She’s what keeps you driven, laughing, and living. It’s all in that one little touch. You tuck her in bed, “Thank you, Jesus”. Rub her head. In the morning it all starts again. This is the origin of strength.

She watched her son hang on a tree. Every drop of blood that he shed was for you and for me. He did it willingly. All the while there she was savoring every touch. It was the ultimate example of love. With his final breath spent, she looked up and she wept, her tears falling down to the earth. This is the origin of strength.

Your beautiful poetic words have truely captured the universal mother. I liked it so much, I read it three times, "smile".

You have expressed a mother's unconditional love. That is her strength. Thanks for sharing.
