Sun peeking out from beyond the horizon
Tiny drops of dew sparkling on a leaf
Gentle summer breezes whispering through my hair
Sweet scent of orange blossoms in spring-time
Soft purr of a content kitten
Warm hot cocoa on a cold winter night
Comfort in the loving arms of my Savior
There are so many things to enjoy. When I look at the world, I see how God’s fingerprints have painted a picture of His love for me. My responsibility is to open my heart and my eyes to see and enjoy the beauty around me.
Paul says, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” (Philippians 4:12) He has learned the secret of being content regardless of circumstances. In each moment, in every situation there is something to appreciate and enjoy. As I open my heart to enjoy these things, I am filled with gratitude. Even in the worst situation, my most serious problem has been solved – because Jesus has saved me I live forever with Him. Now that is a happy thought.
