Seldom in our lives is anything clearly black or white. Everything is most often in the gray area. This means that we must slow down or stop and think for a moment about our overall vision and attitude toward our life and the purpose of life. This is the philosophy of life!
We humans have only 5000 years of recorded history to fall back on and analyze. This means that humans began recording their thoughts and actions about the same time some very intelligent humans began writing the first pages of the Old Testament.
A philosopher is a scholar or thinker; a person who seeks wisdom or enlightenment. Each of us must seek wisdom for our own personal salvation.
Try to never let the word philosophy scare you or turn you off. The way you live and plan your precious life is “your” philosophy.
Life is the most precious gift anyone of us can ever have. We must earnestly believe this day and night and with each breath, we take. Then we must never forget to give thanks to those that gave us this gift. In our own individual way, each of us should be thankful to God our Creator.
Loving, appreciating, understanding, and caring for our parents is the next most important thing for each of us to feel and practice. Sometimes each of us feels that this is the most difficult task in the world. Just be patient and remember that parents sometimes feel that understanding their children is their most difficult task.
There are several words that represent very important areas and needs in our precious lives. I’ll list a few here and you can later-on expound in more detail.
Laws and Order
We only have one body and our body is so much like a car. Normally it runs better and lasts longer if we take care of it. Our body is not just physical. It is the most sophisticated machine in the whole world. We must study the physical, emotional, mental, psychological, and spiritual makeup of our bodies and properly nourish and fine-tune each element. This growth and nourishment comes from within, from courage, and from positive thinking that we are the most important person in our life.
Each of us must completely understand and believe that we, only we… (no one else) is responsible for our own actions. When you get older you will hear, “Ignorance of the law is no excuse.” …and society makes few excuses for ignorance. Society holds each of us responsible for every thing we do and every decision we make. We, you and I, generally make the good things and the bad things in our lives happen.
The purpose of this article is to pass on advice…and this paragraph is likely the single most important advice I can give each of you. Life can be beautiful and fun, but you can mess it up ignorantly abusing alcohol and other drugs, practicing unprotected sex, getting pregnant through ignorant sex, and ruining your health by catching a sexually transmitted disease. You can mess it up by practicing poor eating habits, wasting valuable days of your precious life behind bars in a prison, or suffering mental anguish because you hurt your parents or someone else. You are very responsible and cannot blame anyone else for you actions. Each of us “must” think of our future, plan our future, be rough and tough on ourselves, and insure that each action is the best action. To get where we want to go in life, we need to know where we are going. God gave each of us a brain and He expects each of us to use it…so do it!
I feel that the most important subject for all younger persons to concentrate on is Effective Sex Education, because this is the area where most people of all ages, especially young people, make sad drastic mistakes that adversely affect their lives for years or forever.
Safety is a major job for each of us and it encompasses a lot more than just insuring that the street is clear before crossing or not speeding when driving. Do you often think how fortunate you are to have usable fingers, hands, and functional eyes? Always protect them.
Enjoy and protect your precious life.
