Forever caught on film, this face I adore
My sister, my friend, as she stands on the shore
Precious memories that only we can share
The miles that separate us are so hard to bear

We look forward to August; our vacation is near
If only for a week, it is a time we hold dear
So now we plan, we have so much to say
Knowing it is only a few short months away

Things to look forward to; there be so many
Thoughts to be shared for the price of a penny
Prayers and praises I am sure will be there
As our laughter and chatter ring out in the air

Sweet iced tea, and a warm mountain lake
Sandwiches, chips, and strawberry shortcake
Picnic blankets splashed across meadows
A bit of shade, under the weeping willows

Brilliant blooms to create rainbows of color
Amidst the lush carpet of green grass and clover
Eagles will fly high and dance on the wind
And I'll love this time to share with my friend

Daisy chains and soft spoken dreams
Will conjure up images of things yet unseen
Silly cloud creatures will appear in the sky
Moments of relaxation, as we let time drift by

Bumblebees will buzz amidst the sweet apple trees
As we lift our faces to be caressed by the breeze
Our soft pale skin, will be kissed by the sun
And we'll thank God above for this friendship of love

For now our time, we will impatiently bide
Anticipating the month which will finally arrive
That will bring us together for one time this year
So we can finally, for a time, hold one another near.

I like this. I read easily and rhymically. Good work.
