My Heart’s Cry
Silence, peace and quiet.
Where are you Lord?
I can’t hear you.
I’m listening for your still small voice.
Waiting for instruction, a solution for my problem.
You said, “Come to you, all who are weary
And heavy laden”
So here I am, weary and heavy-laden.
My heart is hurting, Lord.
I don’t think I will ever be the same again.
Will it ever be alright?
Will I survive this, Lord?
The temptation is too great.
I want to give up!
Throw in the towel, all this pain isn’t worth it!
Oh, Father, my heart feels like it will break.
Wisdom, Lord, give me wisdom.
Oh, take this cup from me, I can’t bear it, I can’t!
I now think of you in the Garden alone,
Crying out to your Father.
Oh, how your heart must have hurt,
Knowing what you would have to do to save us.
Willing to suffer so that now at this time, for me,
I will be alright again,
I will survive, because you did.
