God’s amazing love
Romans 8:25 “who shall separate us form the love of Christ?”
Growing up I feared my parents because I knew that disobeying them meant that, punishment would surely follow. I never knew if they were happy with me or I was merely tolerated. I remember when I was about seven years old; one-day mother was going to visit my grandparents in another city. She decided to take one of her children with her. Choosing who to take was not easy, there were nine of us at that time (there are fourteen now). We all gather around her, hopping to be the chosen one. I did not think that she would choose me, so I hung behind everyone else. To my utter surprise, she picked me. Oh, glorious day when I was actually picked from among the bunch! I felt loved, and for the first time, felt special. The rest of the siblings probably do not recall this incident. However, because it meant so much to me, everything about that day is engraved in my memory, including how sad I felt when it was over and I did not feel special anymore.
How awesome to know that our heavenly Father loves us without measure. Nothing can separate us from him, or cause Him to love us any less, not even our sin. Though, he hates our sin, his love does not grow dim. Each of us is special to Him; He has no favorites. Our earthly parents in their human imperfection sometimes fail us, but God’s love is readily available forever. It is freely given; all we have to do is receive it. We are the beloved of our Father and we can trust in His willingness and ability to get us through everything that life dishes out, while passionately enveloping us, in His glorious love.
Prayer: Father, I know that you love me. Dig out the root of rejection from my heart, and give me confidence in your love and mercy. Help me to stop measuring myself by my own ruler. But trust that I am whom you say I am. am. A child of the most High God, washed, redeemed in the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, and co-heir with Him to the kingdom of heaven. Thank you for your amazing grace. In Jesus precious name, AMEN
Purified
Cleansed, renewed, changed
In spirit, soul and mind.
I stand, free, unhindered
By earthly sins and pain.
A new creation made in his image,
Born of his love.
Without wrinkle or spot,
unashamed and guilt free,
In the presence of him who died for me.
Shining, white as snow,
Being redeemed, by his blood.
The veil torn in two;
No longer keeping us apart,
We commune one to one.
Speaking words of the life
Filling me with His unending peace.
Embracing me in his Holy presence;
Loving me, healing my soul,
Letting it be known, “to me she belongs”
Never again to be the same,
Never, to walk alone.
