TITLE: Leading Silly Women Captive
By Katrena Kilpatrick

A friend once came to me for relationship advice. She asked me a very disturbing question. "Why do I always attract the wrong kind of man?" I answered her as best I could, offering comfort that it was not all her doing. Weeks later, God woke me up with a more profound answer. He led me to Second Timothy chapter three, verses six and seven. It states: "For this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

This scripture truly cuts like a knife. It is sharper than any two edged sword for some of us. At some point in our dating season, we have all been at this stage.

The enemy comes but to steal, to kill, and to destroy. He knows that God has a plan and a purpose for women. Satan's plan is to kill our dreams. This is why he sends the wrong man into our lives. A man who does not fear God. Next, satan plans to steal our joy. This is why he sends conflict into that relationship. He knows that if we get all upset and our peace is disturbed, we will take our focus off of the one true and living God. The enemy studies his subjects. He knows that women are emotional creatures. His ultimate goal is to destroy not only what God has in store for women, but to destroy women themselves. This is why we get led captive by men who are lovers of themselves, heady, and high minded, among other things. The scripture tells us from such, turn away.

We must remember that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ that loves us. We have been given a gift more precious than any man could ever give us. "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, and perseverance, character, and character hope." Romans 5:1-4.

If we take time to dissect God's word, it is filled with relationship advice and encouragement. Seek God's face and follow Jesus' heart.

Yes, if we're constantly seeking the wrong relationship, we need to study God's Word and learn to choose more wisely. To know why a relationship goes wrong is one thing. To act on that knowledge is clearly another. Good pov.

Nice insight. So true, and nicely expressed.
