Your hands are the needles Lord
You, Spirit, are the threads of wool
You know my name
My thoughts
My actions

My brain turns
This way and that
You are here
You are there

Not using the same pattern for all of us
Each one has a different size

Before a word is on my tongue
You know it completely Lord
Before my foot treads on the ground
You know its direction Lord

You look at my heart
For you made it
People look at the outward appearance
Changing it to make it what they want it to be

God made us all in his own image
Was he wearing a pinstripe suit when he was crucified?

So, I thank you God, that you made me
The way that I am, so I can see
I can like myself, as you made me
The way you wanted me to be
Even if I am starting to go a little saggy round the edges!

This reminded me of God's hand in the making the quilt of humanity. How he made each "one" different but yet was determined to sew them all together in one unique thread--His love.

This was a pleasure to read.

Is this you Penny? I guess you've been through the wash a few times now :) Very sweet poem.

My Maker is an excellent entry. I especially like your use of words in describing God's unique creativity in making us all different. Good Job. P.K.

This reminded me of Psalms 139. Where we are created individually by God.

Particularly like the image of the needles and thread, they connect with
‘Was he wearing a pinstripe suit when he was crucified?’ Very cool.
This is good: ‘Even if I am starting to go a little saggy round the edges!’
Thought! If you used the word frayed instead of saggy you would be bringing us back to your original image.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. a great lesson for us all. it's not always easy to like ourselves.
