A surprise ending that brought tears to my eyes. You wrote so well, I felt like I was there with you, and I have never visited that side of the country.
What a story! I really enjoyed it!

Well, I used to live in that part of the country, and I felt like I was there with you, too.

Nice subtleties, moving twist at the end.

Great work!

Beautiful! Although,it's not nice to make a grown women cry!:)
Wow! Nothing against the other wonderful stories presented this week but you have my vote for the best. A moving subject skillfully crafted into a powerful tale. I can only pray this is fiction!

Maxx, I was DELIGHTED to see your entry in the Editors' Choice listing. Believe me, the ratings were exceptionally close for the Editors' Choice winners. There really wasn't much in it - everyone was just a fraction away from the person in front. So well done! With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)

I should've know, I should;ve expected, but you still shocked me. No, let me rephrase that-you blew me out of the water. Maxx, incredible. The boulder that brought them together, that brought so much love and passion, killed his wife and son. Almost symbolic in many ways. Wow. I was shocked. Almost a "Sixth Sense" kinda feel. This was so incredibly sad and moving. It held everything a story could ask for. I didn't know that a story under 1,000 words could make you alugh, cry, have "fuzzy warm romantic thoughts," and be horrified all before the closing sentance. Have I mentioned that I envy you!? LOL
